Steelmaking
EAF meltshops represent another field where we rank among the
leading producers, making electric arc furnaces (AC and DC) for a wide range of charge
materials and plant types.
We supply complete EAF meltshops with furnace tap weights of up to 200 t.
They feature short tap-to-tap times, optimal energy utilization and a high degree of reliability.
There are further extras on the UNARC® DC electric arc furnace for solid and liquid charges;
it not only achieves top performance but also saves electrodes and energy due to our
patented air-cooled bottom electrode.
The CONARC© system offers the freedom to use whatever materials customers
choose (pig iron, DRI or scrap), with the electric energy and oxygen adjusted accordingly.
Also included in our range of products are ladle furnace systems from 10 to 400 t
in fixed or tilting versions for single or double treatment positions as well as all conditioning
systems for the smelt.
We are a leading supplier of systems and processes for dust removal, gas cleaning and energy recovery.
Our systems comply with the widest range of pollution control requirements.
It is even possible to combine the individual elements to form a complete system that meets any needs.
Incorporated in our product range are the design and supply of primary and secondary gas
cleaning systems for blast furnaces, reduction furnaces, EAF and BOF meltshops. |

Secondary Metallurgy |
We look back on over 30 years as one of the leading experts in secondary metallurgy.
That helped us become the first company in the world to build steam jet vacuum pumps with a suction
performance of 1 million cubic meters an hour at an absolute pressure of 0.67 mbar. Using this initial technology for vacuum treatment of liquid steel in the ladle, we developed a wide range of processes for ladle metallurgy.
Included in our range of services are both building new and revamping or converting existing plants.
The experience we have gained from constructing more than 350 plants provides us with a broad
foundation for our secondary metallurgy activities. |
