SMS INNSE is acting as a subsidiary of SMS Siemag AG in the field of Continuous Casters for a broad range of material and sizes.

The merging of SMS and Siemag now enables us to provide a wider range of technologies and plants in all areas of continuous casting. This includes plants for the casting of beam blanks, thin, medium and thick slabs as well as for horizontal casting.

Our modern continuous casting technology for Conventional Slab Plants includes the resonance mold, dynamic soft reduction and the funnel-shape mold (both also for thick slabs), OFP (Optimized Flow Pattern) casting and dynamic segment adjustment.
These efficient technologies are incorporated in our "Technological Control Systems" concept for optimization of the complete casting process. They ensure the economical processing of an extremely wide range of steel grades and great flexibility in dimensions and production volumes.

Central to modern continuous casting today are near-net-shape casting plants for producing thin slabs. The CSP funnel mold provides the prerequisites for casting 45-70 mm thick slabs at high casting speeds (over 5 m/minute) with excellent surface and internal quality and a high productivity rate. We offer CSP Casting Plants built as single or twin lines.

Then there is the Long-product Sector where we boast the world's largest store of know-how. Our casting machines are used to produce rail and spring steels, SBQ steels, ball bearing and valve steels along with other special types of steel. They also cast the largest octagonal, round and beam blank shapes.

To help produce even small batches economically, we supply Horizontal Continuous Casting Plants at low investment costs. The cast sections have diameters of up to 400 mm. There is a special focus on steel qualities susceptible to cracking, such as valve steels and high-speed steels, which would otherwise have to be cast as ingots.
